Easy Oven Lasagna

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon Olive Oil
  • 1 lb. Bulk Italian New York Style Sausage
  • 1/2 cup Water
  • 2 15 oz. Cans Marinara Sauce or 1 32 oz. Jar Sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 8 oz. Package Lasagna
  • 1 cup Ricotta or Small Curd Cottage Cheese
  • 12 oz. Mozzarella or Monterey Jack Cheese (sliced or grated)
  • 1/4 cup Grated Parmesan Cheese

Procedure

  • In a preheated skillet on medium high heat, add olive oil and sausage.

  • Brown and crumble ground sausage, drain and set aside.

  • In a small sauce pot add the water, marinara sauce and salt, bring to a boil.

  • In 2 quart (11 3/4 x 7 1/2 inch) baking dish, layer hot sauce, uncooked lasagna, ricotta, sausage crumbles, mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.

  • Repeat layers, ending with sauce.

  • Garnish with mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.

  • Cover tightly with foil (foil not to touch the top).

  • Bake at 375o for 1 hour or cover dish with waxed paper and microwave approximately 25 minutes, turning 180o once.

  • Let stand 5 to 10 minutes before cutting into squares.

  • Makes 6 servings.
